About

That’s right. This girl has joined the Peace Corps. I’ll be working as an English Language Improvement Advisor in the Improving Teaching of English Language in Ethiopia – or, in more easily understandable terms, I’ll be helping to train teachers to teach English.

This blog is a way to keep all my friends, family, and beloved strangers interested in Ethiopia, the Peace Corps, foreign service, traveling, blogging, or the usage of unnecessarily long words up-to-date with what promises to be two of the most challenging and rewarding years of my life.

Happy reading, and my love goes to you all!

  1. Hi! I ended up stumbling on to your blog when I pressed the key words; Butajira and Internet, on google!
To give you a brief introduction about myself; my name is Nikita and I’m an Indian based out of the capital, Delhi. I am a researcher by profession and very recently I was offered an exciting job in Ethiopia. Even though I lwill be in Addis Ababa for the first couple of weeks of reaching the country, I will pretty much be based out of Butajita for the rest of my stint. Which is one long year!
Well, I really enjoyed reading your blog and knowing that you have spent 3 good months in Butajira, I would love to connect with you and take some notes. Please do let me know if that’s possible. My email ID is nikitaarora013@gmail.com. Please do shoot me an email if you think we can connect. Thanks!!
